DEUTSCHLAND MACHT ALARM is an independent, non-commercial online portal that brings together the most important public information resources on civil and military crisis management, civil protection and disaster preparedness in a clear and accessible format, without providing its own editorial assessment or interpretation.
Based on the 20 most frequently asked questions about correct behaviour in a crisis, links to the relevant resources of public institutions are provided that answer these questions.
Our Approach
Through cooperation with media outlets, this resource becomes a push offering with broad reach: By embedding an information box with a link wherever media cover security-related topics, DEUTSCHLAND MACHT ALARM reaches citizens exactly where they search for their news and information.
At the same time, awareness of the topic is raised and the commitment to national resilience is demonstrated publicly.
Our Principles
DEUTSCHLAND MACHT ALARM places particular emphasis on neutrality and the non-commercial character of the service.
In particular, the platform contains:
- no editorial content or interpretation of its own
- no advertising, no political statements, no commercial interests
- only structured links to the relevant, reliable pages of official ministries and authorities
We link exclusively to official sources, such as:
- BBK (Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance)

- Bundeswehr and its state commands

- Aid organisations (THW, DRK, ASB, Johanniter, Malteser)
- Selected government specialist agencies and warning systems
DEUTSCHLAND MACHT ALARM thus becomes the first neutral, central navigation resource for official preparedness and crisis information in Germany, created from a citizen's perspective, for citizens.
About the Founders
DEUTSCHLAND MACHT ALARM was founded in late November 2025 by independent media entrepreneurs Christian Gummig (Hamburg) and Wim Woeber (Roesrath/North Rhine-Westphalia).
The website launched in January 2026, with the Hamburger Morgenpost as its first media partner.
Since then, additional media partners and supporting institutions have joined (see Imprint).
DEUTSCHLAND MACHT ALARM continues to operate independently, on a voluntary basis and non-commercially.
Transparency & Independence
As a private, non-commercial project, we are not beholden to any government body, political organisation or commercial interest.
Our sole commitment is to citizens: to provide them with fast, clear and reliable access to the official information sources that matter in a crisis.
All technical and editorial decisions are made solely with the aim of achieving this goal as effectively as possible.
